Hi, I am Kannan!

I am an avid food lover and apart from relishing the food, I also have keen interest in cooking. Some call me a connoisseur as I am extremely particular about the flavours, texture and the method of cooking.

I am based out of Bangalore and no surprises here, I am an IT techie by profession! I spend most of my free time in my home kitchen, cooking a variety of dishes. I am married and my wife and I enjoy cooking together in our kitchen. My mom has been my biggest inspiration for cooking and I have learnt all the basics of cooking from her. I dedicate this blog to my late mother Mrs. Lalitha Sankaran. I thank my family, friends and all well wishers who constantly inspire and motivate me to keep cooking.

I have had a chance to stay in various places in India and experienced cuisines from different regions and states. This has helped me learn dishes from diverse cultures and become a versatile cook.

I am a Tamil Brahmin Iyer, and my South Indian cooking definitely has a major influence of the Tambrahm cooking style. I had spent most of my childhood in Rajasthan and have a special liking to North Indian and Rajasthani cuisine too. So I feel that I have been able to learn things from best of both worlds, hence have my expertise in North Indian and South Indian cuisines alike.

I am an avid traveller too and have also stayed in various countries which has given me an opportunity to experience and learn dishes from various global cuisines and cultures. I love classic Italian dishes. As most Indians, I am also a big fan of Indo-Chinese cuisine.

I am a vegetarian, hence this blog would only contain vegetarian recipes and posts. I also enjoy baking and this blog contains a dedicated section for the baking recipes too.

My Mission

RedChilliPickle

Though I have been cooking for years and sharing my recipes, tips and tricks with my family and friends either verbally or through social media posts, however I have always felt that I am unable to share the stories behind each of the recipe or the food journey in this mode of sharing. I intend to fill this gap through the means of this food blog.

With this food blog, I would like to take my food journey and home cooking to a wider audience and spread the love for food. I would try to keep the recipes and posts as detailed as possible, which would definitely make the cooking process simple and fun for all.

In this blog, I intend to showcase the diversity of Indian cuisine which is especially so rich in the vegetarian food. At the same time, I also would like to showcase some of the unique and sumptuous recipes from the continental and global cuisine which I have learnt over the past few years of travel.

I hope this blog helps you in learning and trying out some of these interesting recipes.

Please share your feedback and suggestions which would help me optimizing the content and help you bring new and relevant posts.
